The mains water in Spain is generally safe to drink (if in doubt please contact your local water company) but it often seems like they put more chlorine in the tap water than in the swimming pool!
When you turn on the tap the smell is awful. We have just purchased a home in Almunecar, south of Granada and found this. I have been involved in the water treatment industry for 20 years so naturally had the perfect solution.
