Mercia Sveiter - a Brief History

Mercia Sveiter is owned and run by Paul (aka 'Druid') and Sharon Craddock and has been supplying the re-enactment world with cast bronzes, swords, helms, shield bosses, horns, and many, many other fabulous items since the end of the Dark Age - well it sometimes feels like that! It's actually about 20 years or so.

Weyland Reproductions was for over fifteen years the foremost producer of cast bronze items for re-enactors, and was in fact the main source of supply for Mercia Sveiter's bronze range.

In early 2003 Mercia Sveiter acquired Weyland Reprodutions' entire bronze casting operation and has, since then, been the sole source of Weyland's extensive catalogue.

Since the acquisition the amount of cast bronze stock has increased dramatically, with almost 800 different pieces being available at any time. Additionally, quite a few bronze items which had never (or very rarely) been seen for sale have been added to the catalogue.

Unparalleled Stock Range

This huge range of bronze castings, when added to the already staggering breadth of items routinely held in stock makes Mercia Sveiter unparalleled in supplying the Dark Age and Mediæval re-enactment market.
