The Development of the Viking/Saxon Ring Fort

The fort was built from soil dug out when we created a large pond in 1999. In 2000 we enlisted the help of the Walsall Terratorial Army 143 Plant Squadron to put in seating using hard-wood railway sleepers, purchased with an 'Awards for All' lottert grant.                         HOME

In 2001 we obtained a second lotteries grant which enabled us to buy the wood to build the pallisade.
